La Deau And Pardon My French!

First, full disclosure there were a few expletives expressed in this project... and spoiler alert, remove the tube from the base of the bracket and remove the cover, with the lifters attached by rotating it and bringing it down through the opening. Wish I knew that at the beginning of my project, sigh, and "You're Welcome"! Now for the start of the this project... My 1965 Tradewind has many original parts and as I work through the trailer and get familiar with it I can now see where modifications have been made due to things that broke over the years. Early on it may have been difficult to get replacement parts but I need to remember that my trailer's two previous owners were Mainers to the core. I think thrift and ingenuity played a bigger part in the modifications I see. The Astradome is a very unique skylight that vents hot air and allows some sunlight to the interior. The thing about a silver dome shaped trailer is that the interior can get hot in the sum...

Oh, The Places You'll Go!

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. - Oh, The Places You'll Go! This book by Dr. Seuss was a popular with my kids growing up. I love the encouragement and the authentic way that life's ups and downs are portrayed. Before my T1NCAN found me, I was dream'n and learning about vintage Airstreams. One of the places I found online early on was http://www.airforums.com/. On Air Forums I had to sign up to be able to ask questions so I came up with the handle (online persona) as "TinCanDreamN". I would get an email digest weekly of Q&A's as well as be able to search the classified section on the forum. I would periodically check out what was available to study price, condition, models and location of trailers that were for sale. I have been on Air Forums since 2007! Considering I didn't buy my trailer until October 2017 that is a lot of time seriously dreaming about getting a trailer. Add that to the childhood fascination with wanting to get my own and I am around 40yrs + of dreaming about a vintage trailer. As my interest aged and ahem, matured my love of the vintage trailers remained. I never looked at new trailers with the same interest. My family was aware of this inter...
